I am Martin Jourdain. I was born and raised in Castleford, West Yorkshire, I studied Environmental Science at Kingston University, but for the past 15 years I have been involved in finance systems management. In the past I have worked in almost every area of finance, before moving on to work on systems such as Oracle EBS, hospital pathology systems and Netsuite.
In my free time, I love to cook and explore new recipes, listen to music, play the guitar (badly!) and spend time outdoors walking the dogs. I’m also a huge sports enthusiast, enjoying rugby league, cricket, and NFL. I enjoy studying history, particularly the medieval period and I am also a keen amateur genealogist.

I am a NetSuite specialist with extensive experience in configuring, customising, and optimising systems to meet business needs. With a strong background in project lifecycle management and continuous improvement, I’ve developed and implemented a variety of processes that streamline operations, enhance reporting, and improve system efficiency.
Some of my recent achievements include:

Developing a customer refund process in NetSuite and optimising the dunning process for improved collections.

Onboarding new acquisitions into NetSuite, including configuring GL structures and handling complex data import/export tasks.

Implementing a custom user action for legal letters, which involved developing workflows, custom PDFs, and collaborating with developers to create seamless solutions.

Leading numerous continuous improvement tasks such as developing saved searches, building analytics workbooks, and designing task-driven workflows to better serve end users.
I have hands-on experience with NetSuite’s AR, AP, GL, and FA modules, and I specialize in data extraction and transformation (ETL), SQL report writing, and requirements gathering. My focus is always on creating solutions that improve efficiency and align with the goals of the business. I’m adept at advising stakeholders on realistic solutions, testing those solutions thoroughly, and delivering tailored training to ensure smooth implementation.
In addition to my technical expertise, I’ve developed strong communication skills, having delivered comprehensive training courses, managed system maintenance, and built lasting relationships with colleagues. I’m a logical thinker with a passion for problem-solving, and I continuously seek new challenges and opportunities to expand my knowledge.
